Some people don't have enough with the Start menu or the Quick Launch bar, and need something else to access their apps. This is where Krento may come in handy.

Krento is an application launcher that enables you to launch your favorite programs and access your most frequently used folders in a fashionable and more comfortable way. It features a circle-shaped interface, with a central button (or 'stone', as the developer calls them) and several other stones around it, each one of them representing a shortcut. You can create as many circles as you need, but only have one open at a time.

You can open Krento in several ways: using the program's icon in the taskbar, pressing the Win+C keyboard shortcut or using the mouse's central button – which is a bit annoying, because Krento overrides any other functionality this button may have, like opening links in new tabs on Firefox.

Krento lets you create shortcuts for folders, files and websites, as well as other system locations such as My Documents or the Recycle bin. It also has support for a bunch of skins with which to customize its appearance. However, I didn't like the fact that the only way to add a shortcut to a certain file or website is by dragging and dropping it onto the program's interface: it makes Krento's configuration lengthy and uncomfortable.
